Do bouncy castles ruin grass ?
The answer is no based on hiring a castle for a birthday party or event. Having your grass areas covered over by a bouncy castle for even a full day will not effect your grass. If you owned a bouncy castle and left it up for long periods of time then yes your grass area will be effected. The easiest solution for this if you own a bouncy castle is to move its location evert few days in your garden to allow the grass to breath, gain sun light and also be watered. A general party hire for a birthday etc will not be effect your lawn.

What size bouncy castle can adults use ?
The simple answer to this is a large bouncy castle. Adults in general are bigger and heavier than children so a more robust bouncy castle is required. These will generally be a minimum of 5 metres by 6 metres. Adults are bigger so we require more space to bouncy about on the castle. Everything comes back to safety and how we can keep our patrons from injury. Can you imagine a small bouncy castle with 8 adults trying to use it safely !! It would be nearly impossible not to crash into each other given the smaller bouncing area on a kids castle. If you would like to check out some large bouncy castles click me now !

Do bouncy castles have a weight limit ?
Yes all bouncy castles will have a weight and patrons limit depending on the size of the bouncy castles. If we take one of our small bouncy castles as an example. The max patrons at any one time is 6. The patrons must be under 12 years old. On average kids under this age will be under 50kg each so the running weight limit will be approx 300kg. An adult bouncy castle is limited to 8 patrons of any age. Common sense has to prevail with adults weighs varying massively. If we have a patron that is in excess of 100kg then we advise customers to reduce the numbers to 6 patrons. This will ensure safe use and also the castle is less likely to damaged.
Can you use a bouncy castle in the rain ?
Bouncy castles can be used in the rain as long as they have a roof cover and offer some protection from the elements. As an example we allow our children to use the bouncy castle in light rain as the roof will take care of 90% of it and disperse it off the external walls. If the bed of the castle becomes wet we just dry it down with a towel. In heavy rain we advise customers to come off the bouncy castle until the rain passes. Now this is the important bit !! All of our equipment is waterproof so we strongly advise you to leave the bouncy castle up so the roof can disperse the rain. Switching the castle off will result in the bouncy castle having a pool of water that will gather on the roof. Once you switch it back on someone ( normally dad ) will need to go on and push the roof back up to clear the water which will result in someone getting drenched ( normally dad )
Easy rules to follow
Light rain = continue to party
Heavy rain = take patrons off and keep castle up

Can you put a bouncy castle on concrete ?
For this question I will not only discuss placing on concrete but most other surfaces. The ideal service for a bouncy castle is green green grass. If you have this as an option this should always be your first choice. Placing a bouncy castle on any hard surface can be done as long as the base of the castle can be protected from damage with a ground sheet and or soft matting. The other safety item that need to be considered is how you will anchor the castle to the ground ! On a grass surface we use large industrial pegs to secure the bouncy castle to the ground. Wind is a bouncy castles worse enemy so making sure it can be secured safely is job No1. All hard surface job will need to have some kind of anchorage. We prefer to use sand bags or water anchors to hold the castle down. Other companies could also consider a drilled in ground anchor or even a pre fabricated concrete block. The other thing to consider is how you are connecting your bouncy castle to the anchor point. Remember you are only as strong as your weakest point. We use Load rated carabiners ( rated to 192kg each ). This will not let us down in the event of high winds. Below we will show examples of our kit we use for hard surface jobs like placing a bouncy castle on concrete.

Below we have a photo of our load rated carabiners. These are attached to each sand bag we provide our customers. Sand bags are 25kg each and the carabiners we provide are more than 7 times stronger than the load we put them under. We really do put your safety first !
425LBS is 192.7kg ( see image for load rating )

What do you put under a bouncy castle ?
This is an easy one ! Lush green grass you will not require anything under the bouncy castle. On ground that is uneven, rough or grainy then a ground sheet would be advised. Grass areas surrounded by trees that are dropping leaves and twigs we suggest a ground sheet and soft matting to raise the base of the castle up off the ground to avoid damage. All hard surfaces will require matting and ground sheets for protection. All good bouncy castle companies will be happy to assist you when making your booking. Be sure to tell them your exact ground type so they can pack the kit require to carry out your hire in the best possible way.
